The Bacchus Wine Half Marathon is the main event of the day. It has a limit of 1800 runners going off in six wave-starts, the first starting at 9.30am with subsequent waves leaving at 9.40am, 9.50am, 10am 10.10am and 10.20am. Each wave has a maximum of 300 runners, please select your preferred wave at the time of registration. The earlier waves are generally more popular and when each wave is full that option will be removed from the registration options.
As the main event, half-marathon runners will experience a full selection of the Denbies wine range with six award-winning English wines to try along the course at five different drinks stations (you'll visit one station both going out and coming back to trial two different wines at that stop). All the wines will be accompanied by a selection of food snacks arranged to enhance the wines and your enjoyment of the event. Please note that we are serving wine samples and small snacks and we have allocated one serving per runner. There is more than enough for everyone if you only take one serving at each station. Please don't be greedy and think of the runners behind you and limit what you take. There is plenty of additional food at the finish.
Since this is still a running event - a half marathon up and over the North Downs is no easy matter - we've also added a HighFive energy station to keep you fuelled up between the wine stops. Entry to the half marathon includes six food and wine stops, the event T-shirt, a superb commemorative medal, free race photos and a ticket to the post-race party, which includes food and another glass of wine or a beer.
The half marathon is open to runners over 18 only. There is no hard cut off in the race but we have tail walkers at the rear of the field who are there to encourage you not to linger too long at the drinks station. They start after the last wave has departed and have a target of reaching the finish by 2.30pm, so five hours after the first wave departs. If you are planning to walk the half marathon we would encourage you to book into one of the earlier start waves to give you plenty of time to complete the distance without being hurried along. If you are going to be slower than five hours it's possible the course will be shortened to help you reach the finish in five hours.

The Bacchus Wine 10K is a taster event for up to 1200 runners across four waves starting at 10.40am, 10.50am, 11am and 11.10am.
